Bought a New House

This is the first of several posts about the new house we just moved to.

We bought a 1961 vintage rambler on about 2 acres just North of Stillwater, MN. The upstairs had been remodeled and everything was painted white (not very well.) The basement was partially finished, but not really.

This first post will just be photos of the house. These are all taken from the listing – we just moved in and there is still stuff all over, so if we took photos they would be messy. 🙂

The house has three bedrooms and two baths.

Front of House
This is the front of the house. You can see the two attached garage bays.
Back of House
Here is the back of the house with the huge deck. There is a small fenced in yard with lots of garden.
Aerial View
Here is an aerial view of the house. You can see that it is surrounded by trees.
Living Room with Fireplace
This is the living room with a nice stone wall fireplace.
Living Room too
A view from the other end of the living room.
Living Room three
Another shot in the living room. You can see the nice built-in shelves. The dining area is to the left.
Kitchen Island
Standing at the front door you look into the end of the kitchen where there is a nice large island with storage and seating.
Kitchen
The kitchen has nice built-in cabinets and stone counter tops.
Pink Bathroom
This is probably the only thing in the house that is still original to 1961. The tile floor is also pink. The toilet and sink are not original.
Basement
Here is the basement. It was a kind of a disaster. More about the basement and fixing it up in another post.
Pole Barn
I finally got my pole barn. 30′ x 35′ of storage for motorcycles, our camper and other stuff.
Pole Barn Interior
Inside the pole barn. Not my boat.

There will be future blog posts about the work in the basement. There was a lot of work in the basement.
